Got the Baking Bug? I do...

Cupcakes anyone?

Right now, My thing is making cupcakes. It's a phase I'm going through. I made these for Kaya's last day of Kindergarten party. I haven't try making my own batter yet, but that is next on my to do list. I do make my own frosting. Once you try it. It's hard to go back to premade. Here's the recipe...

Ingredients:3 c. powdered sugar, 1 c. butter, 1 tsp. vanilla, & 1 tsp. heavy whipping cream.

In mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix with electric mixer. I add food color then I use a pastry bag to decorate.

Bananas over Banana Nut Bread!!!

Yummy!!! I love Banana Nut Bread. I usually use my sister Carla's recipe. Cake mix, and sub out the water with bananas. This time I decided to use a new recipe. I like the new recipe a little better because it's was a little lighter in texture. Here's the recipe to whip up for your monkeys.

Ingredients: 2 large bananas, 1/2 c. walnuts, 1 3/4 c. all purpose flour, 3/4 tsp. baking soda, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2/3 vegetable oil, 3 tbsp. milk & 1/2 tsp. vanilla.

Mix flour, baking soda, salt, sugar. Blend in eggs, oil, and milk. Stir in bananas and nuts. Pour batter into greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Chocolate Chip cookies

You probably have a chocolate chip recipe already, but here it is again. I whipped up this batch for Kaya's movie night with the neighorhood gals.

Ingredients: 1 c. packed brown sugar, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 c. margarine, 2 eggs, 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 1/2 c. all purpose flour, 3/4 salt, 3/4 tsp. baking soda, 1 package chocolate chips, 1/2 c. nuts.

Cream sugars, and margarine. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chips, and nuts. Form tbsp. size cookie balls, and place on cookie sheet. I usually use parchment paper for liner. Bake 350 degrees for 10 -12 minutes. Enjoy!
