Love My Ninja

For Christmas I gave this to my Prescott BFF, but I secretly wished I had purchased one for myself, so I decided to pick one up. I'm so glad I did. This food processor is AMAZING... It chop, blends, and mixes in seconds. We use it everyday. It's made my cooking life so much easier. I don't use my blender, juicer, or my food processor anymore. The Ninja 1500 replace all of them. I make smoothies, soup, sauces, salsa, refried beans, hummus, and etc. It's endless. One of my favorite purchases...

Organizing the Pantry

I have a large family so I bulk shop; however, the one thing I hate is waste, and buying something I already have. One of the things I do is put everything in clear containers so I can see it. Pastas, grains, flours, dried fruits, cereal, and nuts (Store nuts in frig). Some of the grains and pasta I buy are packages in plastic bags. I hate guessing on how to cook these items, so I cut out the cooking directions, and tape directly onto glass jars. NO guess work involved. With can goods I organize in rows by group, so it's easy for me to see what group I'm running low on. A organized pantry will help make cooking easier, and less stressful.

Coffee press

I love the coffee at World Market. It's a new find for me, and I can't get over the selection. We have switch from a traditional coffee maker to the French coffee press. It's one of the most delicious decisions we have made. I can't imagine ever going back.

Homemade Cleaners

Last night I had my friend Stephanie and her hubby Jean come over to the house to help me with a pet urine problem( yuck, I know!) Anyway,Jean used a black light to locate all the problem areas on the carpet. Once that was taken care of we used the blacklight to check out the monkey's bathroom. The blacklight points out all the bacteria on the surfaces. I was shocked!!! I proud myself in keeping our house clean, but I was very surprised how unclean my bathrooms really were especially the walls. That got me thinking about household cleaning products. I want my bathrooms to be clean all the time, but how can I do that and make it safer for my monkeys? Well I found a great website on Homemade Cleaners. It was eye opening how many homemade remedies there are, and I plan on giving them a try. I like the idea these homemade products are less expensive than name brand cleaners, and less toxic for my family. I hope you check out this site, and try some of these great, safe suggestions.
